Good News for Ratings this season!! One Tree Hill got some mileage out of it's lead-in Next Top Model with the premiere last night, with an improved 3.1 / 5 in the overnights, 3.64 million viewers and a 1.7 / 5 among adults 18-49. Although that is certainly not significant, compared to it's year-ago season-opener on the WB (Overnights: 2.8 / 4; Viewers: 3.46 million; A18-49: 1.7 / 5 on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m.), it was an increase of 11 percent in the overnights and 180,000 viewers (with no change among adults 18-49). One Tree Hill was also up 3 percent among key women 18-34. The CW's new Wednesday combination of "America's Next Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" lifted the network to first place on the night among women 18-34 (3.6/10 - tie), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Sept. 28. In 8 of the top 10 markets, "Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" proved to be a powerful pairing ranking either first or second in adults 18-34 and women 18-34 according to Nielsen data in local peoplemeter markets. The "One Tree Hill" premiere retained more of its "Top Model" lead-in among adults 18-34 (2.2/7, 76%) and women 18-34 (76%) than any show to debut after "Top Model." This is good new for OTH and we hope this trend continues as the season goes on. <credit to Nic>
